Cambridge High School is committed to providing an education for its students which will equip them for life in the 21st century. All students study English, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Physical Education, Arts and Technology at Year 9 and 10, as well as a second language.
Our curriculum provides students with learning towards successfully completing National Certificate (NCEA) qualifications. We offer accelerated programmes for students who excel in a given subject area.
Cambridge High School offers a full range of courses, preparing students for University and tertiary education and training. Correspondence School courses are available to extend subject choice for some students.
In our Buddy Programme we pair a CHS Student with a new international student to support them and share their knowledge of Kiwi life and culture.
Cambridge High School has successfully hosted international students from around the world since 1989. Our dedicated and experienced international support staff ensure international students have a great experience while studying at school. Students are provided with a timetable to meet their individual academic needs and academic progress and student welfare is closely monitored. We have a wide range of sporting activities, academic choices, and international student trips available at school for our students to take part in.
International students are immediately able to join classes with New Zealand students. A variety of sporting and cultural activities will foster opportunities to make lifelong friendships.
