The St Leonards Four-Week Immersion Programme gives pupils the chance to experience life at an independent Scottish boarding school in the historic town of St Andrews. Running from Sunday, 29 May to Friday, 26 June 2026, the programme is open to pupils in Years 7 to 9. It combines academic learning with an activities week, offering a true taste of all that makes St Leonards special.
The St Leonards Summer Programme has been carefully designed to cultivate an environment that prepares students to become thoughtful, innovative, and responsible global citizens. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful and historic school by the sea, where an unforgettable summer awaits.
Week one of our Summer programme focuses on building a foundation, whilst week two is centred around skill building and practical application.
Our mission is to ensure that each student enjoys a rounded and exciting summer programme experience, creating memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. We encourage students to push beyond their comfort zones, explore new passions, and develop their talents. This objective aligns with the School’s educational programmes and compliments the curriculum and philosophy. It is designed to support young people and enable them to become reflective, well-rounded and open-minded communicators.

St Andrews may be a small town but the world around us is big, and we know that our students learn about society, cultures, traditions and our planet both within our walls and beyond. Outdoor education is key to broadening minds and developing skills – Ad Vitam – for life. It is in line with this ethos that outdoor learning is a core part of the St Leonards experience.
With sandy beaches on our doorstep, Junior pupils at St Leonards make the most of every opportunity to take their learning outdoors. The neighbouring East Sands offers a glorious natural learning environment, not to mention plenty of fun, year round.
In the Senior Years, pupils embark upon Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions – Bronze, Silver and Gold – learning survival skills, orientation and camping in the wild. They plan routes, work together, and grow as young people.
All outdoor activities at St Leonards are led or instructed by experienced and qualified members of staff, with the School striving to set the highest possible standards for learning both in and outside the classroom.
